"Bleeding... out... can't... see..."
The sand was red, over the horizon were dunes that seemed as endless as time. This once holy land of Zelaria now lays waste from the beasts believed to be sent from heaven by God in order to end the world. 2000 years later, the world didn’t end yet these creatures remain to roam free. There’s only a few people that would ever dare to travel here, this is a place where there is nothing to be found but lost hope. They come looking for a treasure, and it’s said that those who seek it will be tested by fire if they truly wish to find it.
For the first few centuries reclaiming the holy land was at the core of every nations ideal to protect. When the city fell, the world started to fall apart with it. The era before the divine beast there were precautions set in place so that if for whatever reason the blessed kingdom would require it aid they would be able to receive assistance from anywhere on earth. Unfortunately, every effort went to naught as even modern weaponry was not able to pierce these monsters.
Once the dust settled and the people involved started to realize they were being cast as sheep to the slaughter, the soldiers rebelled along with the common citizen. No one wanted to fight a losing battle especially when they felt it to be more of a sacrifice instead. Strife was becoming more popular than ever with many resorting to their last option of going against the world’s head religious syndicate to avoid being meaninglessly killed. This organization was well-trusted from what has been said and it supposedly derived from an individual who helped bring the world to a peaceful state of being. Though through the ages corruption has revealed itself, the human race stays optimistic.
The fragments of peace that were left broke out into full out war around the globe and the echoes can still be heard today within distant thoughts and memories. As the generations grew old and died, new ones were born to take their place. They sat low with a deep fear that the divine beast would make an escape from the desert and cause havoc around those they cared for. Other people within the worlds government had ulterior motives, many wanting to see who could claim the holy lands for themselves and harness the power of God. From where peace reigned near and far now was an emptiness shrouded in discord.
There was a story about a man that dreamt of wandering these deserts. The sun no longer shined on her people and it was always a time to be gloomy. When darkness was weighing in on humanity this man came from the shadows as a prophet sent to shed light. Its stated that through a dream that was lucid, he was able to visit the forbidden parts of this sacred territory. When he entered, there was mentioned to be a voice that called out to him saying to open the tome at the end of the library and read from the ancient scripture. It seemed to be written in a coded language, much of the pages had been torn out or stained with ink.
According to what he could decipher from the text that was left on the pages among the streaks of red, his prediction was that someone would slay the beasts and forever carry the burden of being covered in their blood. After that, the man was never heard from again but every country took heed to his final warning to not interfere with the crimson death. It was coming; and it was unsure when but you could feel it in the air as he departed.
